Brett Heasman is a Guest Speaker for 29th April 2017 session of 'Alphabet 12'.
Saturday 29th April 2017 session of ‘Alphabet 12’ which will be focused on ‘Travelling' and will feature Brett Heasman as Lead Guest Speaker who will be talking about public understanding of Autism.
Brett is a doctoral researcher of autism, in the
Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science at the London School of
Economics. His research specialises in understanding the factors which extend
or limit interactions with people diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome.
Brett has recently initiated the ‘Open Minds’ project, an interactive exhibition designed to improve public understanding of autism. The exhibition involves portraits of people in the communities he has been researching, combined with their interviews to provide an insight into the variety of daily challenges faced by people on the spectrum. Brett’s research is supervised by Dr Alex Gillespie, Associate Professor of Psychological and Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics. His doctorate is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
Saturday 29th April 2017 session of 'Alphabet 12' will also feature details of 'Alphabet Quad' West Midlands Social Activity which will take place in summer 2017.
